THE LAST SHOT trailer. Beyond Measure Productions.
“What moves those of genius, what inspires their work is not new ideas, but their obsession with the idea that what has already been said is still not enough.”
Eugene Delacroix
If the belief at Beyond Measure Productions is to use film as a medium to reach vast crowds through storytelling about the human condition, then allow this belief to come into fruition at the premier of their first original film (in association with Positive Image Films): The Last Shot.
The portfolio of projects this team of young professionals has in their repertoire is stunning. When you combine innovative idea writing with eye-catching visuals, plus clean, crisp production, you get a Beyond Measure product. While other media production companies are stuck inside of the box of making mundane videos for profit, this team is on a creative frontier towards something much, much larger. They are carrying the torch of change, and right now, The Last Shot is the fire of their torch.
Using film as a medium to reach “people” is precisely what Beyond Measure wanted, and achieved this with project. Parents, teenagers, wife’s, husband’s, educators, police officers, anyone and everyone in between, this film is sure to move you.
The Last Shot is grim and emotional, a lens into the Boston streets, as Officer Bill Willis can attest. The 25 year police force veteran shared these grave, real-life stories of violence and at-risk Boston youth and actually sparked the creation of Beyond Measure Productions itself, fueling the dedication and vision that took to the BM team to retell these stories without an ounce of humanity being left behind. The film focuses on loss, and its affects on a family. The Last Shot was written, filmed and produced in Boston and features all Boston-based actresses and actors. Each person on the 15 member team behind BM is also a home-grown Boston kid, many of them coming from the neighborhoods of Roxbury, Dorchester, Roslindale and Mattapan, where the theme of loss is gets repeated too often. As an inspiration to their city, and a positive message to all, the Beyond Measure team’s film will premier Saturday, April 16th at 3pm at Loews Cinema, Boston Common, during the Boston International Film Festival. If you don’t have tickets to this sold-out show, there will be another viewing Thursday, April 21st at 7:00pm.
